When will air conditioners be back in stock in the UK?

Restock timing depends on a delivery slot, a warehouse allocation and sometimes a container still at sea. Retail staff on the phone genuinely do not know. The date you occasionally see quoted online is almost always someone repeating an estimate that has already slipped.

• They are usually small, and frequently gone the same day during hot weather.
• One retailer often restocks a few days before the others, because they share distributors.
• Returned units go back on sale in ones and twos, at any time, with no pattern at all.

None of that is a schedule. It is a reason to be watching on a Tuesday morning rather than a Sunday night.

Own-brand and high-volume units tend to return first, because the retailer controls the supply and orders in larger quantities. Screwfix and B&Q own-label ranges usually reappear before the specialist and premium models.

The scarcest units are the ones with a single UK distributor. When those sell out, the wait can run to weeks, and the restock is often a single small batch that clears within the hour.
